Tom Hepburn CBT Therapist Glasgow brings over 20 years of hands-on experience to support clients through life’s mental health challenges. With more than 15,000 therapy hours delivered, Tom has earned a reputation for his compassionate and effective approach.
Tom spent 15 years working in the NHS, where he developed deep expertise in CBT. Now, he continues contributing to NHS Scotland as a supervisor two days a month while also providing therapy through the Priory. His combined public and private sector experience ensures clients benefit from a broad and adaptable therapeutic approach.
Effective therapy begins with listening. Tom believes in creating a safe, welcoming space where individuals can speak freely. He never rushes sessions. Instead, he works collaboratively, adjusting his methods to each client’s unique needs. Although his foundation is in CBT, he incorporates other evidence-based approaches when they better serve the person sitting in front of him.
The first session is an opportunity—not an interrogation. Clients can talk openly or communicate via email if that feels easier. Tom’s goal is to begin identifying the roots of distress in a pressure-free, respectful environment. This session sets the tone for a supportive, results-oriented journey.
In today’s fast-paced world, standard solutions often fall short. Tom tailors therapy using a combination of techniques, ensuring it fits the individual—not the other way around. His work is always guided by empathy, understanding, and a commitment to meaningful progress.
Since 2021, Tom has worked with the Priory as a dedicated CBT therapist. He is fully accredited by the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), affirming his adherence to high professional standards.
