Alana Burton Psychotherapist Washington takes a relational approach to therapy. Healing begins with connection. For this reason, I place the therapeutic relationship at the center of every session. Rather than observing from a distance, I walk alongside you. Together, we create space for reflection, clarity, and change.
While we explore your past, we also stay grounded in the present. This dual focus allows us to see how old patterns play out today. As a result, you can gain insight and shift the way you respond. These real-time discoveries lead to real-world change.
Although I use tools from Transactional Analysis—such as ego states and life scripts—I don’t stop at theory. We look at how those patterns appear between us in the session. For example, a reaction or emotion can reveal deep-rooted beliefs. Once we notice it, we can understand and transform it.
True growth begins with safety and trust. That’s why I build an honest and emotionally attuned connection with each client. From this strong foundation, healing becomes possible. You feel safe enough to be open. You find courage to shift painful dynamics. Eventually, you experience lasting emotional change.
My name is Alana Burton, a Psychotherapist based in Washington, West Sussex. I work with adults, couples, and groups. Whether you're looking for short-term support or deep long-term work, I tailor each session to your needs. Every step we take moves you toward clarity and emotional resilience.
