As a Christopher Bygrave Psychotherapist Leeds, I bring a wealth of experience and dedication to every therapy session. I hold a Diploma and Masters in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy, achieved after completing an intensive eight-year training program at BCPC (Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling).
In 2014, I received my foundation certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling. Since then, I’ve worked in private practice, starting in Cheltenham and Bristol. I also spent over five years at an agency, counselling young people aged 11-25. Additionally, I spent four years at the Bristol Sanctuary, an NHS-funded service, where I offered emotional support to people in crisis.
My background also includes an undergraduate degree in Music, which informs my understanding of creative expression. I believe words often fall short of truly representing us. In therapy, healing happens when we are deeply understood and accepted, even without words.
As a Christopher Bygrave Psychotherapist Leeds, I believe therapy is a shared process. We build a warm, authentic relationship that allows us to explore and heal the neglected parts of the self. Through this relationship, growth naturally follows, helping you become more at ease with who you are.
I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, though I typically recommend open-ended sessions. This approach allows the work to unfold at its own pace, helping us explore the roots of your challenges.
I follow a humanistic and integrative approach, with the therapeutic relationship at its core. I also incorporate psychodynamic, embodied, and transpersonal theories. Rather than offering advice or focusing on "self-improvement," my goal is to help you step into your unique self.
After spending most of my life in the South West of the UK, I moved to Leeds in early 2024. I now run my psychotherapy practice from a peaceful room in the city centre, offering a quiet, supportive space for individuals.
I work with people from all backgrounds and encourage enquiries from anyone, regardless of age, gender, race, or sexuality. My diverse experience allows me to support clients facing a range of challenges, including:
Abuse
Addiction
ADHD
Anger Management
Anxiety
Depression
Eating Disorders
Phobias
PTSD
If you are seeking a psychotherapist in Leeds who offers a compassionate, integrative approach, I can help. My work empowers you to explore the deeper aspects of yourself, leading to healing and growth.
