Danica Shaw Psychotherapist Bedford starts every journey with a simple conversation. Referrals are just the beginning. They open the door to honest dialogue and real connection. From there, we create a path that fits your unique needs.
Every therapy plan is different. After the initial assessment, we decide together what works best. If the client is a child or teen, I involve their family as much as possible. If you're over 18, we collaborate directly. That way, you always feel heard and respected.
Therapy must adapt to you. I tailor each session based on what feels right and what helps most. We might use art, music, sand, clay, or body movement. Writing, poetry, and puppetry also open doors to self-understanding.
These tools are powerful. They speak when words feel hard to find. Through them, healing becomes possible, even for deep and complex emotions.
Although I mainly support young people aged 3 to 25, I also work with adults, couples, and families. Everyone faces struggles. However, you don’t need to face them alone.
With children and teens, I connect closely with families and schools. This team-based approach strengthens the support system around the child. Because when one person heals, it helps the whole unit grow.
Hello, I’m Danica. As Danica Shaw Psychotherapist Bedford, I bring heart, skill, and clarity to every session. People often tell me I’m warm, grounded, and consistent. That’s important, because therapy needs safety.
I hold a Master’s in Integrative Child Psychotherapy. I’m also an advanced Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) Practitioner. Before this, I worked as a foster carer. My experience also includes schools, the NHS, and social services.
Because of this, I understand life’s challenges from many angles. I know how heavy things can feel. Yet, I also know how support can change everything.
