Daniel Roberts Psychodynamic Psychotherapist London offers more than just therapy—it’s a journey into deeper self-awareness. I use a psychodynamic approach that focuses on long-term emotional growth, rather than short-term symptom management. From the very first session, we explore unconscious patterns and early experiences to help you uncover the real roots of emotional difficulties. This therapeutic method helps not only with mental wellbeing but also builds stronger, more meaningful relationships.
Since early 2022, I have worked as a psychodynamic therapist with the outpatient therapy team at the Priory. I am fully registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), ensuring you receive high-quality and ethical care. My work includes supporting individuals with a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, always within a safe and confidential environment.
I trained extensively to ensure the highest standards in psychotherapy. I hold an HE (Cert) in Counselling and Counselling Skills from Birkbeck, University of London. I've completed an MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy, also at Birkbeck. Currently, I am deepening my expertise through a Doctorate in Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (Clinical Practice) at the University of Exeter.
My research interests include how early life experiences influence adult relationships. I also explore organisational dynamics and the impact of neurodiversity in psychotherapy. Ongoing study helps me refine my skills and provide therapy that’s thoughtful, compassionate, and effective.
I work with clients navigating a wide spectrum of emotional issues. My areas of focus include:
Anxiety
Depression
Anger management
ADHD
Autism
Bereavement
Bipolar disorder
Gender dysphoria
PTSD
Phobias
OCD
Stress
Medically unexplained symptoms (MUS)
Personality disorders
Each condition is approached with care and insight, using psychodynamic techniques tailored to your specific needs.
In addition to English, I offer services in British Sign Language (BSL). This helps broaden access to psychotherapy for the deaf and hard of hearing communities. Clear communication forms the foundation of effective therapy, and I strive to meet clients where they are.
