David Fox Cardiologist Cheshire leads in managing and treating atrial fibrillation and other heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Fox performs a high volume of catheter ablation procedures each year, making him one of the UK’s most active doctors in this field. Dr. Fox graduated as the top medical student at the University of Dundee, winning multiple prizes. Notably, he was one of only four students to graduate with honours in Medicine, and the only one with first-class honours in Medical Sciences, specializing in Pharmacology. This strong academic foundation set the stage for his successful career.
Following his education, Dr. Fox worked in major hospitals around Manchester. He trained in Cardiology through the North Western Deanery and further specialized during his fellowship at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. There, he mastered cardiac pacing and advanced ablation techniques, especially for atrial fibrillation. His mentor, Professor George J Klein, is a pioneer in cardiology and electrophysiology, which greatly influenced Dr. Fox’s approach.
Since 2008, David Fox Cardiologist Cheshire has served as Consultant Cardiologist at the North West Regional Cardiac Centre, University Hospital of South Manchester. He leads the open access atrial fibrillation clinic and the rapid access palpitation clinic. Moreover, Dr. Fox’s passion for atrial fibrillation ablation shines in his research. He has published several influential papers, advancing knowledge in the field and improving patient outcomes.
