Deborah Meyler Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in Cambridge, I offer a unique perspective shaped by extensive training and life experience. I have spent five years training with the Cambridge Society for Psychotherapy, gaining a deep understanding of psychoanalysis. I hold degrees from two prestigious institutions: Oxford University (1989) and St Andrews University (1991). These educational foundations have provided me with the tools to explore and understand the intricacies of the human mind.
Throughout my career, I have committed myself to the practice of psychoanalysis. My work as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist allows me to help individuals navigate through complex emotional and psychological challenges. With my training in psychoanalysis, I have developed an approach that considers both the conscious and unconscious aspects of human behavior. This dual perspective often proves invaluable when working with patients on a deeper level.
While psychoanalysis is my primary focus, I also have a deep appreciation for poetry and the visual arts. I believe these artistic mediums offer a unique way to explore the inner workings of the human psyche. My passion for these subjects often influences my therapeutic practice, allowing me to use creative expression as a bridge to understanding.
I grew up in Manchester and spent a few years living in New York. However, I have found my current home in Cambridge to be a place of reflection and intellectual growth. Cambridge’s rich history and academic environment inspire me daily in both my personal and professional life. I am glad to live in a world that is "incorrigibly plural," where various perspectives and experiences can coexist and enrich our understanding of the self.
