Dr Helen Sarveswaran GP Leeds UK leads a thriving medical practice dedicated to student health and GP training. We proudly serve a diverse population of university students in Leeds while preparing the next generation of General Practitioners. Consequently, our practice balances hands-on education with responsive, compassionate healthcare.
GP Registrars are already qualified doctors who have worked for several years in hospital environments. However, their transition to General Practice presents new challenges and opportunities. For this reason, we provide a training setting that supports both professional growth and clinical confidence.
Moreover, Registrars gain essential experience in patient interaction, diagnosis, and long-term care planning. In addition, they benefit from close mentorship by senior GPs. As a result, they leave our program equipped to lead within diverse healthcare settings.
Our team includes 21 doctors—14 women and 7 men—who bring a wide range of clinical skills and knowledge. Furthermore, every doctor shares a commitment to high-quality patient care, education, and collaboration.
Likewise, our team thrives on working with a student population. Despite the high demand, we maintain energy, focus, and a patient-first attitude. For this reason, students consistently receive respectful and thorough care.
We care for more than 44,000 students enrolled in Leeds’ colleges and universities. Consequently, our services reflect the evolving needs of young adults, including mental health, sexual health, chronic illness management, and preventative care.
In addition to our doctors, the practice employs over 70 support staff who ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Moreover, this team handles appointments, records, and patient queries with efficiency and empathy. Hence, every student receives timely and reliable support.
Although we are one of the largest student practices in the UK, we remain personally connected to each patient. In contrast to more impersonal systems, we focus on continuity of care and building trust within our community.
