Dr Peter Atkinson GP UK Brighton heads the dedicated team at Saltdean & Rottingdean Medical Practice, serving a growing community of over 12,500 patients near Brighton. We provide both telephone and in-person appointments, offering flexible access to high-quality care.
Moreover, our multidisciplinary team includes 10 GPs, 5 nurses, a clinical pharmacist, a paramedic, and a range of well-being and mental health professionals. As a result, our patients receive coordinated, holistic care tailored to their individual needs.
We deliver a wide range of health services, focused on prevention, management, and recovery.
Our Chronic Disease Clinics support patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. Annual health reviews are arranged and must be attended. Consequently, this regular monitoring improves long-term health outcomes and enhances early intervention.
Child immunisations are held every Wednesday afternoon. These vaccines play a critical role in protecting young patients and the broader community.
Similarly, we provide Over-75s Health Checks which include measurements of height, weight, and blood pressure. In addition, our NHS Lifestyle Check is available every five years for patients aged 40–74 who have no pre-existing chronic conditions. This screening involves a fasting blood test and general health assessment.
Phlebotomy services are available each weekday morning. However, tests must be authorised by a GP or hospital consultant, and patients must bring the correct paperwork. On the other hand, children under 12 must attend the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital for blood testing.
We also offer Cytology (Smear Tests) for women aged 25 to 65. Ideally, these tests are performed mid-cycle. Patients are notified by the NHS and should contact the surgery to arrange their appointment.
Our monthly Cryotherapy Clinics offer treatment for wart removal. Before booking, patients must be assessed by a GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner to confirm suitability.
Additionally, we offer stitch removal and dressing services, ensuring complete support through recovery. Hence, our patients receive consistent and professional care from diagnosis through to treatment follow-up .
