After completing his internship at Tygerberg Hospital, he served in Montagu, gaining hands-on experience in various medical disciplines. His commitment to rural medicine led him to missionary work in Malawi, where he provided essential healthcare services. Later, he worked in internal medicine and ICU care in Worcester, further refining his skills.

In 2016, he shifted to private practice, focusing on aesthetic, anti-aging, and integrative medicine. His qualifications include a Diploma in Aesthetic Medicine, a Diploma in Advanced Mental Health Care, and a Certificate in Critical and Intensive Care. He continuously expands his expertise and is currently pursuing studies in Functional and Integrative Medicine.

Besides his medical career, Dr. Pretorius has a deep appreciation for the arts. He studied B.A. Mus at the Conservatory of Stellenbosch, where he specialized in the organ. Additionally, he has excelled in musical production, directing, and dancing, earning national colors in Ballroom and Latin Dancing.
