Dr Susanna Mayor-Smith GP UK Brighton leads a compassionate and experienced team at Saltdean & Rottingdean Medical Practice. We serve over 12,500 patients near Brighton, providing both telephone and in-person appointments to ensure flexible and accessible care.
Furthermore, our team includes 10 GPs, 5 nurses, a clinical pharmacist, mental health coordinators, physiotherapists, and a paramedic. As a result, our patients benefit from comprehensive support tailored to a wide range of health needs.
Our medical practice provides key services that help manage both chronic conditions and preventive healthcare.
We run Chronic Disease Clinics focused on asthma, COPD, diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. Annual reviews ensure that patients stay on top of their conditions. Therefore, early intervention and ongoing assessment support long-term wellness.
Immunisations for children take place every Wednesday afternoon. These vaccinations protect young patients from serious illnesses and support community health.
In addition, we offer annual Over-75s Health Checks that include height, weight, and blood pressure assessments. Similarly, our NHS Lifestyle Check is available for patients aged 40–74 without diagnosed chronic diseases. This check, offered every five years, includes fasting blood work and a general health review.
Blood tests are available every weekday morning through our trained phlebotomists. However, samples must be authorised by a GP or hospital consultant. In contrast, we do not offer blood tests for children under 12; these are handled by the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital.
We also provide Cytology (Smear Tests) for women aged 25 to 65. Ideally, these are scheduled mid-cycle. Patients are notified by the NHS and must book their appointment once contacted.
Moreover, we offer dressings and stitch removal to aid healing and reduce the risk of complications. Consequently, these follow-up services ensure complete, hands-on care.
