Kirsty Murray Psychotherapist Nottingham offers a collaborative and relational approach to therapy. I focus on creating a safe, confidential space where you feel seen, heard, and supported. From the first meeting, we work together to understand your experiences, challenges, and goals. Therapy works best when the relationship between therapist and client feels honest, safe, and grounded in trust.
Life can feel overwhelming. You might be struggling with anxiety, stress, grief, or a traumatic experience. Maybe a relationship has broken down, or perhaps past events are still impacting your present. No issue is too small or insignificant. If it’s affecting your life, it’s worth exploring. You don’t have to navigate it alone.
Our work starts with you. I meet you exactly as you are—without judgment and without assumptions. Whether you're feeling lost, anxious, or unsure of your next step, we explore it at your pace. Together, we build a space where you can speak openly, reflect deeply, and begin to make sense of your emotions.
During our initial consultation, we talk about what’s brought you here. This meeting helps us understand whether we’re a good fit. We’ll look at your therapeutic goals, session frequency, and the terms of our counselling agreement.
Not everyone knows how long they want therapy to last. That’s okay. I offer short-term, mid-term, and open-ended therapy with regular reviews. Sessions last 50 minutes and usually happen weekly—either in-person in Nottingham City Centre or online.
I’m an Integrative Psychotherapist (MSc), which means I draw from a wide range of therapeutic models. These include attachment theory, gestalt, transactional analysis, CBT, mindfulness, and grounding techniques. I use what fits best for your needs.
Most of these approaches look at early relationships—how we learned to connect, trust, and communicate—and how those patterns show up in our current lives. Our therapeutic relationship becomes a space to safely explore these dynamics and begin creating meaningful change.
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why I work in a flexible, client-centered way. I adapt based on what you need from our time together. Each step is collaborative. As you gain self-awareness and insight, you'll feel more empowered to make decisions that align with who you truly are.
I offer face-to-face appointments in Nottingham City Centre (Mondays and Tuesdays). For those preferring remote sessions, I provide online therapy via Zoom or telephone on Thursdays.
