Lee Roethenbaugh Psychotherapist Bath—this phrase encapsulates my professional identity and commitment to providing compassionate, integrative psychotherapy services in the heart of Bath.
I completed my training at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy & Counselling (BCPC), one of Britain's top accredited training institutions. I hold a Master's Degree and a Diploma in Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy. BCPC is an organizational member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and I am fully accredited by UKCP, adhering strictly to their codes of ethical and professional standards.
Additionally, I am a qualified therapist in Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor (PBSP), a body-mind approach to psychological development. This method draws on attachment theory, system-oriented principles, and client-centered attitudes, forming a unified philosophy that addresses deep-seated emotional patterns.
Being an integrative psychotherapist means I draw on various ideas and methodologies, always aiming to fit the individual. From traditional practices to contemporary methods informed by neuroscience, I view psychotherapy as an opportunity to explore our feelings and understand their influence on our behaviors.
My diverse training in integrative work, body-mind approaches, and Jungian depth psychology has shaped a practical, interactive, and attentive approach to psychotherapy. This allows me to meet clients where they are and support their unique healing journeys.
People enter therapy carrying stories shaped by past experiences and beliefs instilled by others. Psychotherapy offers a space to explore and rewrite these narratives, fostering a sense of ownership over one's identity.
Effective therapy is transformative. Through collaboration, compassion, support, and imagination, we can uncover your innate capacity for healing and wholeness. By closely examining thought patterns and ingrained behaviors, we can identify and address inner obstacles, paving the way toward a reimagined self and a more creative life.
Our unconscious minds significantly influence our lives. Incorporating dream analysis into our work can provide insights that balance our conscious thoughts and actions. Understanding what has been forgotten, denied, or previously unknown contributes to a more fulfilling and whole existence.
Before transitioning into psychotherapy, I worked in TV and film as a sound mixer/recordist. Currently, I maintain a private practice in Bath and serve as an associate counsellor within the NHS, delivering therapy to individuals with complex mental health needs and young adults transitioning out of the care system.
