Dr Nora Turjanski joined Priory in 2020, bringing almost a decade of private practice experience at prestigious London hospitals. She specializes in treating patients with complex psychiatric and neurological conditions. Dr Turjanski holds vast experience in managing medically unexplained symptoms and psychological consequences of physical illness. She has treated numerous patients suffering from depression, anxiety, and various mood disorders. Notably, she developed and led the perinatal psychiatry service at the Royal Free Hospital, collaborating closely with the obstetric team to support maternal mental health. Her background as a neuropsychiatrist also allows her to treat depression linked to neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease. Furthermore, she operates one of the few NHS psychiatric clinics dedicated to patients with psychological challenges related to HIV.
Dr Turjanski graduated as a Medical Doctor from Buenos Aires University in 1982. She initially trained in Neurology in Argentina before relocating to London in 1989. Her work in Neurology and Neurosciences continued until 1999. In 2000, she shifted focus and began psychiatric training, ultimately becoming a Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist and Neuropsychiatrist in 2006. Since then, she has held substantive NHS posts and published widely on clinical neuroscience and liaison psychiatry. Dr Turjanski also serves on the Executive Faculty of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, where she teaches postgraduate students and acts as an examiner.
