About Dr Tasneem Gallant

Dr Tasneem Gallant works as an Obstetrician-Gynaecologist with deep passion for women’s health. She focuses on giving pregnant women a positive and supported birth experience. We also offer general gynaecology care.

She studied medicine at Stellenbosch University and graduated in 2013. She then worked at clinics and hospitals such as Mitchells Plain District Hospital, Mowbray Maternity Hospital, and Tygerberg Hospital. There she served as Medical Officer and later as Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

In 2022 she earned her master’s degree. After that, she worked at Khayelitsha District Hospital, Karl Bremer Hospital and two private O&G practices.

She says she loves O&G because it helps women at different life stages — from young adulthood to menopause. She values helping patients with empathy and care. Outside work she enjoys reading, cooking and baking.

About Dr Jo-Ann Kammies

Dr Jo-Ann Kammies also works as an Obstetrician-Gynaecologist. She aims to guide women to make informed decisions about their reproductive health. She supports natural births when possible. Her skills include early pregnancy care, ultrasound, contraception counselling, pap smears, colposcopy and gynaecological procedures.

She studied medicine at the University of Cape Town and graduated in 2010. She completed her internship at Kimberley Hospital in the Northern Cape. Then she did community service at Otto Du Plessis Hospital. Later she worked at Khayelitsha District Hospital for three years. She finished her specialist training at Tygerberg Hospital and earned her master’s degree from Stellenbosch University in 2022.

Dr Kammies values shared decision making. She does not just dictate care. She and Dr Gallant met when they started registrar training. They formed a strong bond and share the same values. Their shared passion for women’s health benefits all their patients.

Our Services

We offer a full range of obstetric and gynaecological services. These include:

• Pre-conception counselling and initial booking visits.

• Viability scans around 8–10 weeks.

• Follow-up care for both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies.

• Delivery options: vaginal delivery, elective or emergency caesarean section, assisted delivery, and VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean).

• Postpartum check-ups at 7 days and again at 6 weeks. These include family planning and cervical cancer screening.

We also cover general gynaecology care:

• Cervical cancer and breast cancer screening, with pelvic scans.

• Treatment for menstrual problems, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, PCOS, chronic pelvic pain, urinary tract infections, and pelvic infections.

• Management of infertility and pelvic organ prolapse.

• Colposcopy and biopsy for abnormal pap smear results.

• Postmenopausal bleeding and hormone replacement therapy.

• Family planning consultations.
