As Patricia Rea-Woodhouse, Psychotherapist London, I offer a Gestalt psychotherapy approach grounded in a phenomenological perspective. This method emphasizes understanding how your thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and existential experiences shape your view of the world. The goal is to help you become aware of these experiences and bring your authentic voice into the therapeutic space. Through creative techniques, we explore how these elements affect your current challenges.
I work with individuals, couples, and groups, providing a flexible and tailored therapeutic approach. I hold a Diploma in Supervision awarded by the Gestalt Centre, accredited by Middlesex University, ensuring a high standard of practice.
As Patricia Rea-Woodhouse, Psychotherapist London, I focus on helping you increase awareness through meaningful contact. Whether working with individuals or couples, I explore the impact of life’s experiences on your emotional and psychological well-being. This includes addressing issues such as self-harm, addiction, self-esteem, identity struggles, relationship difficulties, and mood-related concerns. I provide a confidential and containing space, allowing you to feel safe and supported as we navigate these challenges together.
I bring over 20 years of experience in social work, primarily with children and families. In addition, I have 15 years of experience as a psychotherapist, working with individuals, groups, and couples. My extensive experience allows me to offer valuable insights and effective guidance. I work collaboratively with clients to uncover and address the root causes of their struggles. My approach is compassionate, and I strive to build a therapeutic relationship based on trust and openness.
Throughout my career, I have developed a special interest in working with cultural issues and identity problems. As a woman of color, I recognize the unique perspectives that race and culture bring to the therapeutic process. This understanding allows me to offer a more inclusive approach, welcoming curiosity about the role these factors play in shaping your experiences. Additionally, I have experience helping clients with issues such as abuse, depression, and attachment problems.
In our work together, we will address concerns such as:
Bereavement
Cultural Issues
Depression
Race Issues
