Rahul Bhattacharyya Orthopaedic Surgeon London is a leading Consultant Knee Surgeon based at The Wellington Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare UK in St John’s Wood. He also holds an academic role as an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London. His NHS base is at NHS Lanarkshire University Hospitals, allowing him to provide care across both private and public healthcare sectors.
Mr Bhattacharyya focuses entirely on surgery of the knee, with a deep commitment to treating sports knee injuries, especially in elite athletes. His expertise includes keyhole surgery (arthroscopy), ligament repair, meniscal repair and transplantation, and cartilage procedures. Moreover, he is trained in robotic-assisted knee replacements, ensuring patients receive the latest surgical solutions.
He has trained with some of the most respected knee surgeons in the world, including Mr Tim Spalding and Mr Pete Thompson. His subspecialty fellowships in Coventry and London have shaped his advanced skills in meniscal allograft transplantation and trauma surgery. Mr Bhattacharyya holds an MSc in Orthopaedics (awarded top candidate) and an MD(Res) from Imperial College London. He continues to lead academic research in biomechanics, surgical techniques, and outcome-based care, with numerous publications and global presentations.
