Shehram Moghul Consultant Psychiatrist Southampton offers expert psychiatric care with decades of clinical experience. Dr. Moghul has served as a visiting consultant with admitting rights at the Priory since 2014. Additionally, he practices within the NHS at Southampton General Hospital. This dual role allows him to treat a large number of patients and stay current with training, clinical guidelines, and appraisals. After graduating from The University of Southampton Medical School in 1994 with a Bachelor of Medicine degree, Dr. Moghul trained in Accident & Emergency and General Practice before specialising in psychiatry in 1997. He earned his MRCPsych in 1999 and a Master’s degree in Psychiatric Research from University College London the same year. Since 2003, he has been a consultant psychiatrist and remains on the Specialist Register.
Dr. Moghul actively contributes to the field through clinical articles and research papers. Notable studies include work on acetylcholinesterase inhibitors in Alzheimer’s Disease and randomized trials on risperidone and rivastigmine for agitated behaviour in severe Alzheimer’s. Furthermore, he serves on the Board of Examiners for the Royal College of Psychiatrists and evaluates clinical standards for the General Medical Council.
