Prof Zak Nel completed his BA Hons, HED, and MA (cum laude) at Stellenbosch University, beginning his career in Durban as a teacher and school psychologist. In 1975, he joined the Rand Afrikaans University (now University of Johannesburg) as a student counsellor. His doctoral studies led to a post-doctoral stipendium in Career Counselling research at the University of Minnesota, USA, reinforcing his belief in the profound impact of career choices on individuals’ lives.
