Description

KK Womens and Childrens Hospital Anaesthesia Research Singapore

KK Womens and Childrens Hospital Anaesthesia Research Singapore leads important work in medical research. The KK Research Centre (KKRC) supports doctors, scientists, and clinicians under one roof. Its goal is to make research smooth, affordable, and effective. By combining research support, execution, and finance, the centre ensures every project runs well from start to finish.

Strong Research Support

The Research Strategic Support (RSS) unit helps researchers at the earliest stage. It guides them with ethical approvals, grant checks, and contract reviews. In addition, the team works on budgets and financial planning with the finance office. RSS also mentors young doctors and encourages them to explore new research ideas. As a result, the hospital builds future leaders in science and healthcare.

Clinical Trials and Research Execution

The Research Execution Support (RES) unit works closely with RSS and finance. It has a team of trained Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs). These experts hold GCP certification and manage even complex clinical trials. They focus on patient safety, data accuracy, and strict compliance. Moreover, RES conducts audits and runs training sessions to keep standards high. This teamwork ensures that every study moves forward with quality.

Financial Guidance and Partnerships

KKRC also provides strong financial management. The finance specialists assist researchers in creating trial budgets. They negotiate with sponsors and help finalise agreements. At the same time, they liaise with the business office to track funds and spending. With this support, researchers can focus on results rather than paperwork.

Facilities and Resources

The KK Research Centre maintains bench space for key experiments. It also manages the Medical Library, which gives access to valuable journals and references. This resource helps researchers build better projects and improve study quality. Therefore, the centre offers both space and knowledge to support innovation.

Leadership and Direction

KKRC leadership includes respected experts. Prof Jerry Chan serves as Research Director. Dr Amos Loh Hong Pheng supports him as Deputy Director (Scientific). Mr Sonny Lim oversees administration. Together, they guide the centre towards excellence and growth in research.
