About Cape Mental Health Society

Founded in 1913, Cape Mental Health Society has been at the forefront of mental health advocacy and care. Over the years, it has transitioned from historical practices of incarceration to a model of empowerment and inclusion. Rooted in a rich history marked by significant developments in mental health care, the organisation is dedicated to promoting mental well-being and supporting individuals with mental disabilities.

  • Eagles Programme: Day care and structured programmes for adults with severe intellectual disabilities. Not only does it provide respite for families, but it also promotes individual growth and social inclusion.
