Dr Kumarie Moodliar is a skilled psychiatrist based in Table View, Cape Town. Originally from Durban, she moved to Cape Town during her internship and developed an interest in community psychiatry, particularly after her service at Mitchell’s Plain Hospital. After gaining experience at Karl Bremer Hospital, she completed her specialist training in psychiatry at the University of Stellenbosch.

Dr Moodliar started her private practice at Netcare Blaauwberg Hospital in 2011 and completed a post-doctoral diploma in addiction care. She joined Palm Tree Clinic in 2014, where she plays a vital role in patient care.

Services

Psychiatric Evaluation
Dr Moodliar provides comprehensive evaluations to assess mental health disorders, determine suitability for Palm Tree Clinic admission, and whether long-term inpatient care is needed.

Biopsychosocial Management
She assesses and prescribes medication as needed and makes referrals for other services such as therapy or specialist consultations.

Psychoeducation
Dr Moodliar educates patients and their families about mental health disorders and treatment, fostering a supportive environment for recovery.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

If you're not already under the care of a psychiatrist at Palm Tree Clinic, Dr Tamsin Malengret will assist with referrals. If you are, we will contact your psychiatrist for coordination.
