Natascia Papaikonomou Clinical Psychologist Edenvale earned her master’s degree at the University of South Africa. She then completed an internship at Natalspruit Hospital in Katlehong, where she worked closely with children and families facing various challenges. During this time, she also trained at Tara, where she treated individuals struggling with severe psychiatric diagnoses.
After qualifying, she joined Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital. In this environment, she encountered many cases of sexual and physical abuse, as well as alcohol and substance abuse. These experiences deepened her understanding of trauma and strengthened her commitment to helping vulnerable individuals.
After spending a year and a half at the hospital, she decided to open her private practice. She wanted to provide more personalized care in a setting that allowed for deeper therapeutic engagement. Since then, she has continued working with clients, helping them navigate complex emotional and psychological challenges.
Beyond private practice, she also worked at a spinal and neurological rehabilitation center in Pretoria. At Muelmed Hospital, she guided patients and their families through the emotional difficulties that often accompany physical rehabilitation. These experiences reinforced her holistic approach, ensuring she considered both the emotional and physiological aspects of healing.
