Lauren Ellis Physiotherapist Sea Point offers specialised women’s health physiotherapy, pregnancy care, postnatal recovery, and breastfeeding support. Lauren provides evidence-based treatment based on each woman’s needs, with a strong focus on pelvic health.
Lauren qualified with a BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of the Western Cape in 2016. She then completed her Community Service at Groote Schuur Hospital in 2017. Since then, she has worked in private practice while building her knowledge in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy (OMT). She has also volunteered at government clinics in the Western Cape.
Lauren’s own experience with postnatal recovery and breastfeeding challenges inspired her to focus on women’s health. As a result, she established her practice to support women through pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and pelvic health challenges.
Lauren now serves as the Chair of the Pelvic and Women’s Health Special Interest Group for the South African Physiotherapy Society. She also works in the Urogynae Physiotherapy Clinic at Groote Schuur. Therefore, she brings both professional knowledge and personal understanding to her care.
Lauren provides specialised women’s health physiotherapy at Office 3, 23 Arthurs Road, Sea Point, 8001. Sessions include assessment and treatment for pelvic health conditions.
Home visits are available for early postpartum recovery. This option allows women to receive physiotherapy treatment in the comfort of their own homes.
Lauren provides birth preparation for both vaginal and C-section deliveries. She also offers post-pregnancy pelvic floor assessments, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and treatment for pelvic floor dysfunction. In addition, she helps manage pregnancy-associated pain.
Lauren offers breastfeeding and postnatal support for women who need extra help during recovery. Treatment includes laser therapy for cracked and painful nipples. She also uses ultrasound therapy for blocked ducts, mastitis, and breast abscesses.
Furthermore, Lauren provides guidance on feeding positions, latching, and postnatal mobility. She also assists with toileting and post-birth recovery.
Lauren treats incontinence and pelvic pain. She also provides rehabilitation for C-section scars and post-surgical recovery. In addition, she supports women experiencing painful intercourse and postpartum tears. Constipation management forms part of her pelvic health care.
Lauren also offers Telehealth Services for women who need online support. Consultations cover pelvic floor health, birth preparation, and postnatal recovery. Whether you need guidance before birth or support during postpartum healing, Lauren provides compassionate and professional care.
