Fazlin Ederies Physiotherapy – Claremont

About Me

Hello, I’m Fazlin Ederies, a passionate and experienced physiotherapist based in Claremont, Cape Town, with over 12 years of experience in improving the physical health and well-being of individuals. I hold a BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of the Western Cape and have had the privilege of working across both the public and private sectors. I am also a certified Vinyasa Yoga instructor, having practiced yoga myself for over five years. This holistic approach allows me to integrate movement and mindfulness into my physiotherapy practice.

Throughout my career, I have specialised in neuro-musculo-skeletal physiotherapy, treating a range of acute and chronic conditions, particularly lower back pain, neck pain, and sports-related injuries. I also have a special interest in Women’s Health, offering support for pelvic floor dysfunction and pregnancy-related issues, both during the ante-natal and post-natal stages.

I am dedicated to staying at the forefront of my field by engaging in continuous education, which ensures I provide the highest standard of care to my patients. My approach to physiotherapy is centred around the individual, prioritising compassionate care, thorough assessment, and personalised treatment plans.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy leading an active lifestyle, including hiking, gym sessions, and yoga, which fuels my holistic approach to well-being. I look forward to guiding you on your journey to better health and helping you achieve your wellness goals.

Services

At Fazlin Ederies Physiotherapy, I offer a wide range of physiotherapy services to help you manage pain, recover from injuries, and optimise your physical health. Here’s how I can assist you:

Neuro-Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

I assess and treat issues related to the brain, spinal cord, nerves, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones. This includes conditions such as neurological disorders, musculoskeletal pain, and spinal injuries.

Pre-Surgical Rehab (Prehab)

Preparing for surgery is as important as the recovery itself. I guide patients through pre-surgical rehabilitation with exercises, therapies, and lifestyle adjustments, aiming to strengthen the body and improve overall outcomes post-surgery.

Post-Surgical Rehab

Recovery from surgery is crucial for regaining strength and function. I design structured rehabilitation programmes that focus on restoring mobility, strength, and flexibility following surgical procedures.

Neck and Back Pain

I provide effective treatments for both acute and chronic neck and back pain, helping you manage discomfort and regain full mobility. This treatment may involve manual therapy, exercise programmes, and postural correction techniques.

Sports Massage

As a specialised form of massage therapy, sports massage helps address the unique needs of athletes and those engaged in regular physical activity. It focuses on muscle relaxation, pain relief, and improving flexibility.

Dry Needling

For those dealing with muscular pain and dysfunction, I offer dry needling, a technique where thin needles are inserted into trigger points in muscles to alleviate tension and promote healing.

Sport-Related Injuries

I treat a wide range of sports injuries, from acute strains and sprains to overuse injuries. My approach focuses on reducing pain, improving recovery, and preventing future injuries.

Mobility Training

Mobility training improves joint mobility, flexibility, and range of motion. It’s designed to help you move more freely and safely in everyday life or sports activities.

Women’s Health

I offer specialised physiotherapy for pre-natal and post-natal conditions, including pelvic floor dysfunction, back pain, diastasis recti, and pelvic pain. I provide tailored treatments to help women navigate the physical challenges of pregnancy and recovery.
