Groenewald Coetsee Physiotherapy – Edenvale

About Us

Groenewald Coetsee Physiotherapy was founded in 2024 by Nadia Groenewald and Mallory Coetsee, two experienced professionals with over 30 years of combined clinical practice. Located in the ReActive Sport Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Centre at the Harmelia Medical Centre, previously known as the Harmelia Hospital or Hydromed, the practice continues a long tradition of healthcare excellence. The practice was acquired from its original owners, who had served the Edenvale and greater Johannesburg community for over 40 years.

We are registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), which authorises us to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of conditions. We specialise in sports and orthopaedic physiotherapy and also offer services for certain cardiopulmonary conditions. While immediate relief from symptoms such as pain, stiffness, and discomfort is our short-term goal, we prioritise long-term rehabilitation through exercise and strengthening to maintain lasting improvements in your health and mobility.

Our approach ensures that every patient receives personalised care with thorough assessments and treatment plans tailored to meet individual needs. We believe in offering quality, one-on-one time with a physiotherapist during each session (30–45 minutes), ensuring optimal results and patient satisfaction.

Our Services

We offer a comprehensive range of physiotherapy services aimed at addressing musculoskeletal, sports-related, and other conditions to improve your overall well-being and recovery.

Neck and Back Pain

Neck and back pain are common complaints, often resulting from poor posture, muscle strain, or injury. We offer effective treatment options that include hands-on techniques and exercise therapy designed to alleviate pain and improve flexibility and function.

Concussion Rehabilitation

Concussions can have a lasting impact on an individual’s health and well-being. We provide a comprehensive concussion management programme to ensure proper recovery and safe return to normal activities.

Sciatica

Sciatica, often caused by a herniated disc or spinal issues, can cause sharp pain along the leg. We offer effective treatments to alleviate pain, improve mobility, and address the underlying causes of sciatica.

Muscle or Ligament Injuries

We offer targeted treatment for muscle and ligament injuries, focusing on pain relief, strength recovery, and restoring functional movement.

Shoulder Conditions

Shoulder injuries, including rotator cuff issues and impingement syndromes, are common and can significantly affect mobility. Our team provides expert diagnosis and rehabilitation tailored to restore full shoulder function.

Post-Surgery Rehabilitation

After surgery, we assist with rehabilitation to restore strength, flexibility, and function. Whether recovering from a joint replacement, ACL reconstruction, or tendon repair, we provide a customised recovery plan to optimise healing.

Foot and Heel Problems

Our physiotherapists treat conditions such as plantar fasciitis, heel spurs, and general foot pain, helping you regain mobility and comfort.
