Founded by Clinical Psychologist Yumna Zubi in 2013, The Psychology Couch began as a solo practice and has since grown into a multidisciplinary team offering comprehensive mental health services. With over a decade of experience, The Couch now includes clinical psychologists, counseling psychologists, educational psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers, and psychiatrists. The practice operates with a hybrid model, offering both in-person and online consultations to provide flexibility for clients across Gauteng.

The Psychology Couch’s Journey

Starting at 10th Avenue in 2013, The Couch relocated to 40 River Road in 2014, growing the team and expanding services. In 2020, The Psychology Couch and Co was established, uniting affiliate practitioners to serve clients more broadly. The practice has embraced change, utilizing social media to promote psychoeducation and engaging in community initiatives such as the Santa Shoe Box project and the #HikeForMentalHealth fundraiser. Additionally, the team has contributed to TV, radio, journals, and magazines, curating valuable psychoeducational content.
