Academic Excellence and Qualifications

Dr Sauerman’s medical journey began at Stellenbosch University, where she earned her MBChB in 2010. She graduated with four distinctions and became a Golden Key Association member. She later pursued paediatrics, obtaining her FC Paeds (SA) in 2021 and her Master of Medicine (MMed) from the University of Cape Town in 2022.

Dr Sauerman has extensive hands-on experience across multiple hospitals. Her career milestones include:

• Potchefstroom Hospital (2011-2012): Internship in various medical disciplines.
• Mowbray Maternity Hospital (2013): Community Service Officer.
• Khayelitsha District Hospital (2014-2016): Paediatric Medical Officer, covering general paediatrics, emergency units, and neonates.
• Tygerberg Hospital (2016): Rotated through neonates, general paediatrics, and PICU as a Medical Officer.
• Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital (2021-2023): Served as a Paediatrician in general paediatrics and the neurodevelopmental clinic.
