My Journey in Medicine

I grew up in Paarl and matriculated at Girls’ High School Paarl. In 2000, I completed my medical degree at the University of Stellenbosch. After my internship and community service in Pretoria and Polokwane, I moved to the UK for two years. Subsequently, I relocated to Canada, where I lived and worked as a general practitioner for eight years.

During my time in Canada, I developed a deep interest in women’s health and aesthetic medicine. As the only female doctor within a 100km radius, I gained extensive experience in both fields.

Returning to Paarl and Building My Vision

In 2013, I returned to South Africa with my family and settled in Paarl. Initially, I worked at the multidisciplinary breast clinic in Panorama and various GP practices in the region. However, I quickly noticed a gap in preventative healthcare, particularly for women.

For this reason, I envisioned a professional yet comfortable environment where women’s health is addressed holistically. This includes not only physical well-being but also mental, spiritual, and socio-economic factors. Moreover, I believe that true wellness is achieved through a combination of medical technology, lifestyle changes, and early preventative care. Sometimes, all a patient needs is the right guidance.

The Role of Aesthetic Medicine

Aesthetic medicine enhances my holistic approach to healthcare. Preventative and aesthetic treatments ensure a fresh, natural appearance without looking artificial. Furthermore, these treatments boost confidence, contributing to overall well-being.

I established my practice in 2015 in Paarl. In April 2019, I moved it to the Mooikelder Estate, north of Paarl. The newly renovated old cellar—after which the estate is named—along with the breathtaking Paarl mountains and vineyards .
