Siobhan Bottomely Physiotherapist Kings Park is passionate about fostering musculoskeletal health. I graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2022 with a BSc in Physiotherapy. Shortly after, I completed my community service year in Vryheid, KZN. There, I worked closely with patients, improving their health and refining my clinical skills.
Since then, my mission has been clear: to empower individuals with a solid foundation in musculoskeletal health. I believe this is essential for a life of well-being. A well-maintained musculoskeletal system supports daily activities and overall quality of life. Without it, even simple tasks can become challenging.
As a physiotherapist, I specialize in musculoskeletal health for all age groups, with a strong focus on children. Musculoskeletal care is crucial for children’s development. I work to ensure that children develop healthy movement patterns. Through early intervention, I aim to prevent future physical issues. By addressing musculoskeletal health in childhood, I help children grow stronger and more active.
My commitment to children goes beyond just their physical health. I understand how their well-being can impact their overall development. This motivates me to provide personalized care tailored to each child’s needs.
In addition to my BSc in Physiotherapy, I have earned qualifications in Dry Needling, Strapping for Athletes, and Cerebral Palsy. These specialized skills enhance my ability to address a broad range of musculoskeletal issues. For example, I use Dry Needling to relieve muscular tension and pain. Strapping techniques help support injuries and improve recovery times. I also focus on treating individuals with Cerebral Palsy to enhance their mobility and quality of life.
These additional qualifications have given me a deeper understanding of musculoskeletal health, allowing me to provide effective, individualized treatments for every patient.
When I’m not working with patients, I stay active. I train regularly, participating in competitive events that challenge me physically and mentally. I also volunteer as a lifeguard in my community. Through these activities, I remain connected to my patients’ needs. I understand the importance of staying active, both for physical health and overall well-being.
My personal commitment to a healthy lifestyle helps me empathize with my patients. It also allows me to offer relevant advice and support.
