Dr. Shabeer Ebrahim is an experienced ENT specialist based in Tokai, Cape Town. He graduated from the University of Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree in 1994. Following this, he completed his internship at Johannesburg General Hospital, where he developed a strong passion for ENT surgery.
In 1999, Dr. Ebrahim moved to Cape Town to begin his postgraduate training in Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Cape Town, completing it in 2003. Since 2004, he has maintained a successful private practice at Melomed Gatesville Hospital, where he has built a solid reputation for his expertise in treating various ENT conditions.
Dr. Ebrahim specialises in paediatric ENT, sinus disorders, endoscopic surgery, and sleep disorders. He keeps his skills up to date by attending international courses on advanced surgical techniques and the latest treatments for sleep-related issues.
Dr. Ebrahim offers expert care for children with a range of ENT conditions, such as ear infections, tonsillitis, and hearing issues. He ensures a child-friendly environment, making visits as comfortable and stress-free as possible for both patients and parents.

He has been instrumental in establishing sleep study labs and introducing mobile sleep studies at Melomed Hospitals, offering patients flexibility in diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Ebrahim holds an MBChB from the University of Witwatersrand and a postgraduate qualification in Otorhinolaryngology from the University of Cape Town. He is a registered practitioner with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and an active member of the ENT Society of South Africa.
Dr. Ebrahim is married to Dr. Raashika, a medical doctor currently specialising in palliative medicine. Together, they have three daughters. Outside of his medical career, Dr. Ebrahim enjoys both road and trail running, taking full advantage of Cape Town’s scenic outdoor spaces.
