About Dr. Nomphelo Gantsho

Dr. Nomphelo Gantsho is a highly qualified dermatologist with a strong background in both medical and surgical dermatology. She graduated with an MBChB from the University of Pretoria in 2004, following her Bachelor of Science (BSc) with honours in Microbiology and a Master of Science (MSc). After gaining invaluable experience as a medical officer in the Department of General Surgery, Dr. Gantsho specialised in Dermatology at the University of Cape Town. She was trained under the mentorship of renowned dermatologists, Prof. G. Todd and Prof. N.P. Khumalo.

Her unique combination of surgical training and dermatological expertise sets Dr. Gantsho apart, especially in the growing field of dermatological surgery. She completed training under Prof. Field, founder of the International Dermatological Surgery Society, which furthered her skills in this specialised area. In 2012, she initiated a combined clinic at Groote Schuur Hospital, focusing on the management of hidradenitis suppurativa in collaboration with the Departments of Dermatology and Plastic Surgery.

Currently practising at the Century Medical Suites in Century City, Dr. Gantsho also oversees the Dermatology Treatment and Phototherapy Clinic, Cape Dermatology Clinic, and is a director at Derma-SCAPE, a company dedicated to dermatological research and clinical studies.

Dr. Gantsho is also a respected researcher and presenter at international and local dermatological congresses. Her work has been published in several respected dermatology journals, further solidifying her role as a leader in her field.
