Abeedah Hendricks-Lalla Clinical Psychologist Paardevlei is dedicated to promoting mental health and well-being. As a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), I provide personalized therapy services. My goal is to empower individuals to manage life’s challenges. I entered this field due to the noticeable gap in mental health awareness, especially in underserved communities.
Throughout my career as a Clinical Psychologist Paardevlei, I have worked in both government and private sectors. My roles in the Department of Social Development, the South African National Defence Force, and the Department of Health have enriched my understanding of mental health. These varied settings have allowed me to work with diverse populations, enhancing my ability to tailor therapeutic approaches. As a result, I am able to offer effective solutions that address each person’s unique needs.
In my practice, I primarily use a psychodynamic approach. This method helps uncover emotional patterns and unconscious processes that may affect current issues. By understanding these influences, clients can gain insight and heal. Additionally, I incorporate other therapeutic tools to ensure a holistic treatment approach. As a Clinical Psychologist Paardevlei, this combination of methods empowers clients to create lasting changes in their lives.
A core aspect of my work is establishing a genuine, collaborative therapeutic relationship. Trust is essential for effective therapy. I work hard to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel heard and understood. This supportive space fosters healing and personal transformation. As a Clinical Psychologist Paardevlei, I believe that seeking therapy is a powerful act of self-care. Taking the first step toward support demonstrates strength, and I encourage clients to begin their journey toward healing.
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Stellenbosch University (SU). I also completed a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of the Western Cape (UWC). Additionally, I earned a BA Honours in Psychology and a BA in Social Work from UWC and the University of Cape Town (UCT). My educational background equips me with the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality psychological care. I am committed to helping clients achieve improved mental health and well-being.
