Dr. Neil Cloete is an accomplished vascular surgeon based in Claremont, Cape Town. He completed his medical training at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 1991. After his internship at Livingstone Hospital in Port Elizabeth, Dr. Cloete gained valuable experience at Red Cross Children’s Hospital and Mitchells Plain Community Health Centre. In 1996, he began his surgical career at Worcester Regional Hospital, where he worked as a medical officer in General Surgery for three years. In 1999, he started his specialist surgical training at Groote Schuur Hospital.

After completing his general surgery training, Dr. Cloete was appointed as a consultant general surgeon at New Somerset Hospital in 2005. He then pursued specialized training in vascular surgery at St James’s Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, where he received expert training in open, endovascular, and venous surgery. He returned to Cape Town in 2010 and became a consultant vascular surgeon at Groote Schuur Hospital. Dr. Cloete has also served as the head of the vascular unit at University of South Africa (Medunsa) in Pretoria.
