About Us

Cape Fertility Clinic, founded in 1993, is a leading fertility centre in Cape Town, South Africa. The clinic is the largest IVF facility in the country, with a well-respected Egg Donation programme. In 2015 alone, it completed over 400 Egg Donation cycles.

We are proud to be an accredited training unit for specialists in Reproductive Medicine, recognised by the University of Cape Town (UCT). Additionally, the clinic trains embryologists in partnership with the Central University of Technology (CUT). This ensures we use the latest fertility techniques and maintain high success rates.

Our team comprises highly qualified specialists, including Dr Sulaiman Heylen, Dr Paul Le Roux (President of SASREG), Dr Tamtam Matebese, Dr Lizle Oosthuizen, and Dr Joanne Pottow. Alongside them, eight IVF coordinators and eight embryologists offer professional support throughout each patient’s journey.

Our Services

Cape Fertility offers a comprehensive range of fertility treatments, ensuring that each patient receives personalised care. Some of the key services we provide include:

  • Fertility Consultation: Our consultations assess fertility challenges and help develop a tailored treatment plan.
  • Artificial Insemination (IUI): This treatment helps those with male infertility or unexplained infertility.
  • Egg Donation: Our successful Egg Donation programme boasts a 76.4% pregnancy rate, offering hope to women who cannot use their eggs.
  • Egg Freezing: Women can preserve their eggs for future use, ensuring the flexibility to pursue pregnancy later.
  • ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection): We use ICSI to treat male infertility by injecting a single sperm directly into the egg.
  • In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF): IVF allows for the fertilisation of eggs outside the body, followed by embryo implantation.
  • Ovulation Induction: We use medication to stimulate ovulation in women with irregular cycles.
  • PGT (Preimplantation Genetic Testing): PGT helps identify genetic issues before embryo implantation, increasing the chances of a healthy pregnancy.
  • Reproductive Surgery: Minimally invasive procedures like hysteroscopy and laparoscopy address fertility issues like endometriosis or fibroids.
  • Sperm Donation: We offer sperm donation as a solution for male infertility.
  • Surrogacy: Our clinic supports intended parents throughout the surrogacy process.
