Dr Chetan Patel leads our practice as a dedicated Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon in Hurlingham. He earned his MBBCh, FC Plast Surg (SA), and MMed (Wits) from prestigious institutions. He completed his undergraduate studies at WITS University in 2000. Moreover, he received his Fellowship in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the College of Surgeons of South Africa in 2009. He earned his Masters in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in May 2013. Furthermore, he trained on the WITS Academic circuit where he refined his surgical skills.

His passion for hand surgery grew over the last eight years. He developed significant expertise in trauma hand surgery from accidents and work-related injuries. In addition, he enhanced his elective hand surgery skills by collaborating with Dr Roger Nicholson. Consequently, he gained valuable insights into nerve compression syndromes, congenital hand problems, and arthritis-related conditions. Recently, he traveled extensively as a fellow with the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He also visited the Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, India. These experiences enrich his practice and refine his techniques. At Hand Consult SA, founded with Robyn Midgley in September 2017, patient care always comes first.
