Anke Groenewald Physio – Wellington

About Us

At Anke Groenewald Physio, we are dedicated to assessing, treating, preventing, and rehabilitating movement disorders of the human body. With a passion for people and a deep understanding of how unique each individual is, we strive to provide patient-centred care that promotes healing, mobility, and overall well-being.

Meet Anke Groenewald

Anke graduated from the University of Stellenbosch in 2011 and completed her community service year in Tzaneen, Limpopo in 2012. She then joined Miller & Associates in Melkbosstrand in 2013, where she gained extensive experience working with individuals across all age groups, from young children to the elderly.

Driven by her love for people and a fascination with the human body’s complexity, Anke decided to open her own practice in Wellington in February 2017. Since then, she has been committed to helping clients regain function, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life through personalised physiotherapy treatments.

Outside of work, Anke enjoys spending time with her family and indulging in her creative passion—leather crafting.

Our Services

At Anke Groenewald Physio, we offer a comprehensive range of physiotherapy treatments tailored to each patient’s needs. Our goal is to help you recover from injuries, improve mobility, and prevent future complications.

Dry Needling

A specialised technique using fine needles to target muscle tension and trigger points, helping to relieve pain and improve movement.

Ultrasound Therapy

This treatment uses sound waves to stimulate tissue healing, reduce inflammation, and promote circulation in injured areas.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS)

EMS therapy helps to strengthen weak muscles, improve blood flow, and enhance rehabilitation after injury or surgery.

Strapping

We use different taping techniques to support injured joints and muscles, aiding in recovery and injury prevention.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)

A safe and effective method to relieve pain by using low-voltage electrical currents to stimulate nerves and reduce discomfort.

Laser Therapy

This non-invasive treatment promotes tissue healing, reduces inflammation, and alleviates pain in both acute and chronic conditions.

Soft Tissue Release

A hands-on technique designed to improve flexibility, reduce tension, and enhance mobility in muscles and connective tissues.

Joint Mobilisation

Gentle, manual techniques that restore joint movement, ease stiffness, and help alleviate pain caused by musculoskeletal conditions.

Post-Operative Rehabilitation

We provide specialised physiotherapy to assist in recovery after surgery, helping patients regain strength and function.

Ergonomic Assessments

Aimed at improving workplace posture and reducing strain, these assessments help prevent injuries related to poor ergonomics.

Sports Massages

Designed for athletes and active individuals, sports massages help reduce muscle tension, enhance performance, and speed up recovery.

Sports Injury Treatment

We offer targeted treatment for sports-related injuries, including sprains, strains, and overuse conditions, ensuring a safe return to activity.
