Dr Bode Ensam Cardiologist Birmingham is a Consultant Cardiologist and Cardiac Electrophysiologist practicing at The Harborne Hospital. He specializes in inherited cardiac conditions (ICC), sudden arrhythmic death syndromes (SADS), sports cardiology, and managing arrhythmias during pregnancy. His approach to treatment is both innovative and patient-focused, ensuring the best outcomes for those with complex heart conditions.
Dr. Ensam graduated from Warwick Medical School in 2007. He then pursued general medical training in Dorset and Hampshire, earning his membership at the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2011. Following this, he secured a national training position in Cardiology and trained in the West Midlands. His passion for advancing his expertise led him to a clinical and research fellowship at St George’s Hospital, London, where he focused on ICC and sports cardiology under the guidance of Professor Elijah Behr.
During his time at St George’s, Dr Bode Ensam Cardiologist Birmingham gained extensive experience in rare electrical cardiac conditions, such as Brugada Syndrome, Long-QT Syndrome (LQTS), and Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia (CPVT). Additionally, he developed expertise in handling cases of unexplained cardiac arrest and recurrent syncope. As a fellow with the Cardiac Risk in the Young UK (CRY-UK), he honed his skills in assessing cardiovascular health in elite athletes. His research on Brugada Syndrome was supported by over £300,000 in funding from the British Heart Foundation.
After completing his fellowship, Dr. Ensam returned to the West Midlands to continue his training in advanced invasive cardiac electrophysiology. He then served as a senior EP fellow at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham. There, he performed nearly 300 catheter ablation procedures and 150 pacemaker/defibrillator implants in just one year. This work led to his appointment as a consultant in cardiac electrophysiology and inherited cardiac conditions at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 2022.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Bode Ensam Cardiologist Birmingham is committed to advancing cardiology through research and education. He has authored numerous articles published in leading medical journals and has presented his findings at international conferences.
