As a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon since 2013, he currently works across the University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough. Furthermore, he actively serves as a regular Army Officer. This dual commitment has shaped a dynamic clinical career, both within the NHS and in military operational environments globally.

A Personal Life Grounded in the Outdoors

Although his work keeps him busy, Leigh stays deeply connected to his West Wales roots. He lives in Cardiff with his wife and three children. Together, they spend their free time outdoors—caving, mountain climbing, and biking. Likewise, he’s a passionate rugby supporter, backing Scarlets, Rhiwbina RFC, and the national Welsh team.
