Unique Fitness Sports Therapy Derby is run by Allen Sikara, an experienced osteopathic manual therapist and sports therapist. He is based at The Bridge Centre for Natural Health in Mickleover, Derby, where he works as an associate. With a degree in Osteopathy (Hons) from Staffordshire University, Allen offers a unique blend of manual therapy, sports rehabilitation, and holistic care.
His journey began with a passion for sport and progressed into personal training. After gaining qualifications up to Level 4, including GP referral expertise, he worked with clients managing diabetes and obesity. Over time, he realised that manual therapy would allow him to offer more complete care. Consequently, he retrained and now specialises in osteopathic treatments that focus on the root cause of pain, not just the symptoms.
Allen offers a diverse range of therapies tailored to individual needs. These include:
Osteopathic Manual Therapy
Sports Massage (Levels 3 and 4)
Medical and Electro Acupuncture
Cupping Massage Therapy
Postural and Functional Movement Assessments
Injury Rehabilitation and Prevention
GP Referral Programmes for Clinical Clients
TRX Suspension and Kettlebell Training
Aqua Aerobics and Spin Bike Sessions
Whether you’re dealing with joint pain, a post-operative condition, or chronic musculoskeletal issues, Allen can help. He works with clients recovering from disc injuries, arthritis, frozen shoulder, and sports-related conditions such as golfer’s or tennis elbow. Treatments are designed to promote long-term recovery and functional movement.
In addition to in-clinic care, Allen also offers home visit appointments for those unable to travel. This flexible approach ensures that treatment remains accessible and convenient.
Allen’s treatment philosophy centres around the body’s ability to function as a connected unit. For example, a back problem may originate from the ankle or knee. As a result, he conducts full-body assessments and always considers the broader medical history when forming a diagnosis.
Although he now focuses on manual therapy, Allen maintains a strong link with the fitness world. This ongoing involvement helps him stay updated with the latest research and training techniques. Furthermore, his background in personal training allows him to support clients across all levels of health and fitness.
Over the years, Allen has worked with a wide range of individuals—from weight loss clients and post-surgery patients to those simply needing relief after a tough workout. Regardless of your condition, his patient-first approach ensures tailored, effective care.
