Jessica Harris Speech and Language Therapist Rugby brings a compassionate, client-centered approach to supporting children with complex communication needs. As a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with over a decade of experience, Jessica’s work transforms lives. She empowers families while tailoring strategies to meet each child’s unique needs.
Jessica holds two Bachelor’s degrees. Her qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy from Birmingham City University and a BSc (Hons) in Psychology with Child Language Development from Bangor University. These academic foundations, paired with real-world experience, give her a well-rounded and effective therapeutic approach.
Since qualifying in 2014, Jessica has worked with children aged 2 to 18 across diverse settings. She leads assessments and delivers therapy in community clinics, homes, mainstream and special education schools. Each setting provides its own challenges, but Jessica adapts seamlessly to provide consistent, impactful support.
During her time in NHS community clinics, Jessica addressed speech sound disorders, stammering, language delays, and Developmental Language Disorder. Furthermore, she contributed significantly in a multidisciplinary team in Birmingham, assessing preschoolers with Autism Spectrum Condition and Global Developmental Delay.
From 2019 to 2023, she worked in a specialist school setting. There, she helped children from nursery through secondary school who faced challenges due to developmental or physiological conditions. This experience shaped her neuro-affirming and person-centred approach.
Jessica is passionate about neuro-affirmative therapy. She celebrates each child’s individuality and encourages family involvement at every step. By focusing on what matters most—building communication confidence—Jessica supports not just the child, but the whole family unit.
She believes therapy should be collaborative. Whether it’s celebrating small wins or setting long-term goals, she works alongside families to create meaningful progress.
