Covering an extensive area of approximately 3,400 square miles, the Trust operates across eight hospital sites and employs roughly 10,000 staff members. These dedicated professionals work both within hospitals and the wider community to deliver high-quality care.
The Trust manages an annual turnover close to £1 billion and remains accountable to an elected and appointed Council of Governors. This structure ensures that the organisation is guided by representatives from the local community, maintaining a focus on patient needs and service excellence.
The Trust oversees several key hospitals that serve the local population, including:
York Hospital
Scarborough Hospital
Bridlington Hospital

Archways York is also proud to serve as a teaching hospital in partnership with the Hull York Medical School (HYMS). This collaboration supports clinical placements and the education of future doctors at both Scarborough and York hospitals. As a result, the Trust plays an important role in shaping the next generation of healthcare professionals.
