Dr Marina Nieuwoudt – Obstetrician & Gynaecologist – Brackenfell practices at Mediclinic Cape Gate, having joined the team in 2015. She graduated MBChB from the University of Stellenbosch in 2002. Moreover, she completed her internship at Paarl Hospital in 2003 and served as a Community Service Doctor in 2004. Subsequently, Dr Nieuwoudt was appointed Senior Medical Officer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Karl Bremer Hospital from 2005 to 2010, where she led the Perinatal Problem Identification Programme (PPIP) and curated intern training.

From 2011 to 2014, she trained as a Registrar at Tygerberg Hospital, gaining expertise in high-risk obstetrics and advanced laparoscopic gynaecology. Furthermore, she earned her FCOG (SA) fellowship from the Colleges of Medicine in 2014. Additionally, Dr Nieuwoudt authored a peer-reviewed article, “Pregnancy Outcomes in Super-Obese Women,” published in the South African Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, demonstrating her commitment to evidence-based practice.
