Andrew Vearing is a highly skilled prosthetist with over two decades of experience. He earned his Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics from La Trobe University in 1996. Since then, he has developed his clinical skills in both hospital settings and private practice across Australia.
Early in his career, Andrew worked at Caulfield Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. Later, he joined Advanced Prosthetic Center in Sydney, where he worked in private care. This broad range of experience has shaped his balanced and hands-on approach to patient care.
Andrew is deeply committed to staying ahead in prosthetic technology. Over the years, he has travelled across Australia and abroad to gain specialist training and clinical certifications. His drive to innovate has led to several firsts in Western Australia.
Notably, Andrew was the first prosthetist in WA to fit:
I-Limb (Touch Bionics)
C-Leg (Ottobock)
Michael Angelo Hand (Ottobock)
Proprio Foot (Ossur)
In addition, he is the only clinician in Perth certified to fit the Utah Arm (Motion Control). He also holds certifications in the Advanced Flex Foot (Ossur) and Genium Knee Joint (Ottobock). These achievements reflect his focus on advanced care for people needing prosthetic limbs.
At Orthotic Prosthetic Solutions (OPS), Andrew provides expert care in:
Lower and upper limb prosthetics – Custom-fit designs with a focus on mobility, comfort and reliability.
Microprocessor and sensor-based systems – High-tech solutions for active lifestyles and everyday use.
Client-focused support – Simple, clear advice and hands-on training so clients feel confident using their devices.
Team-based rehab plans – Working closely with other health professionals to ensure clients recover well.
Andrew believes that great outcomes come from combining the best technology with genuine patient care. He takes time to understand each person’s needs, goals and lifestyle. Then, he builds a treatment plan that fits—both in terms of function and personal comfort.
Through his work at OPS, Andrew continues to raise the standard for prosthetic services in Perth. His focus remains on helping every client live more freely, move with confidence and return to the activities they enjoy most.
