Dr Crystyn Scott, known as Crissy, is a skilled Counselling Psychologist and CBT Psychotherapist based in Bristol, UK. With over twelve years of academic study in psychology and more than ten years of clinical experience, she brings both depth and warmth to her practice.
Throughout her career, Crissy has supported individuals in a variety of settings, including NHS Trusts in the South West and the Priory Hospital in Bristol. She also completed British Psychological Society (BPS)-approved training in clinical supervision, and has actively supervised and mentored fellow professionals.
Crissy holds full accreditation as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and follows an integrative approach. Rather than adhering strictly to a single model, she collaborates with clients to integrate tools and techniques that work best for them.
Crissy uses CBT to address a wide range of emotional difficulties. This structured and collaborative form of therapy helps clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours are connected. Together, you’ll develop strategies that lead to lasting change.
CBT can be especially helpful for those experiencing:
Depression
Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
Panic Attacks
Social Anxiety
Health Anxiety
Low self-worth
Rather than simply managing symptoms, Crissy helps clients build practical skills that empower them to move forward.
For individuals dealing with trauma, Crissy offers EMDR therapy. This method is particularly effective for processing distressing memories caused by:
Road accidents
Assaults
Other single-event traumas
Using guided techniques, Crissy helps clients safely revisit and reprocess these memories so they no longer feel overwhelming or intrusive.
Instead of relying on one fixed method, Crissy blends a range of therapeutic models. She draws from mindfulness, emotional awareness, and cognitive techniques to create a personalised therapeutic experience. This flexibility allows clients to explore what resonates most with their personal journey.
Whether you’re new to therapy or have had support before, integrative therapy encourages meaningful insight and progress.
Crissy also offers online sessions for those who prefer or require remote support. These virtual appointments are conducted via secure, encrypted platforms, ensuring confidentiality and convenience. Clients across the UK can access therapy without the need to travel.
In addition to client work, Crissy provides clinical supervision for trainee and qualified therapists. Drawing from her BPS-approved training and extensive experience, she offers thoughtful guidance and support. Furthermore, she runs training workshops designed to expand therapeutic knowledge and skills.
