At Alexa Biccari Physiotherapy Sea Point, patients receive professional and personalised physiotherapy care to support recovery, mobility, and a pain-free lifestyle. With years of experience in hospital and private settings, Alexa provides individualised treatment for a wide range of conditions.
Alexa Biccari graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2011. She began her career as a Community Service Physiotherapist in Port Elizabeth. There, she gained hands-on experience across different wards, including ICU. She then moved into private practice and worked in hospitals for several years. During this time, she gained valuable experience with ICU, post-surgical, and medical patients.
Since 2015, Alexa has focused on outpatient physiotherapy in Sea Point. As a result, she has developed strong experience in musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, respiratory, and orthopaedic conditions. She also has extensive experience in post-operative care and rehabilitation.
Outside work, Alexa enjoys an active lifestyle. She runs on the mountain with her rescue dog Polly. She also enjoys swimming, gym workouts, and occasional yoga.
Treatment starts with a detailed assessment. Alexa asks about your condition, medical history, and lifestyle. This helps her understand your needs and create a personalised treatment plan.
Manual techniques include hands-on mobilisation and manipulation. These techniques can help reduce pain, improve joint movement, and support better function.
Strapping and kinesiology taping can support injured joints and muscles. They can also help movement and reduce the risk of further injury.
Ultrasound therapy can help reduce pain, swelling, and inflammation. It also supports soft tissue healing and recovery.
Rehabilitation focuses on restoring strength, mobility, and function after injury or surgery. Patients receive customised exercise plans to support recovery from sports injuries or chronic pain.
Ergonomic assessments help improve posture and workstation setup. Therefore, they can reduce strain and help prevent musculoskeletal problems.
Dry needling uses thin needles to treat muscle pain, tension, and trigger points. The technique releases tight areas in the muscles and can provide long-lasting relief.
For patients who cannot travel to the clinic, Alexa offers home visits in the Sea Point area. This allows patients to receive the same high-quality physiotherapy care in the comfort of their home.
Alexa treats a wide range of conditions, including:
During your session, Alexa first discusses your concerns in detail. She then performs a physical assessment to better understand your condition. Next, she tailors the treatment to your specific needs.
Most importantly, Alexa focuses on making every patient feel heard and cared for. Therefore, each treatment plan supports the individual’s recovery, mobility, strength, and overall function.
