Dr Amanda Stevenson has more than a decade of clinical experience across community mental health teams, inpatient wards, care homes, and hospitals. Currently, she serves as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in an NHS community mental health team for older adults. Consequently, she works with a broad range of psychological and mental health difficulties. Her special clinical interests include psychological trauma, trauma-informed care, and mental health in older adults. She has contributed nationally to specialist trauma training and promotes trauma-informed practices across Scotland.
Dr Stevenson treats a wide range of conditions, including anxiety, panic, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, low self-esteem, trauma and PTSD, complicated grief, adjustment difficulties, relationship and attachment issues, and stress. Dr Stevenson earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsychol) from the University of Edinburgh. She also holds an MA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Glasgow. Furthermore, she completed advanced training in psychological responses to stress in dementia, safety and stabilization, and clinical neuropsychology.
