Art Therapy in Sea Point is an art therapy practice owned by Samantha Davis. An internationally trained and registered art psychotherapist.
Samantha holds an Undergrad degree in Psychology. And obtained her Master’s in Art Psychotherapy (MA in Art Psych) from the University of Hertfordshire in London in 2000. After returning to South Africa, she underwent conversion examinations to register with the HPCSA of South Africa as an Art Psychotherapist.
For over 22 years, she has run a private art therapy practice in South Africa, serving professionals, adults, and children in individual and group settings.
Sam helps those seeking support for stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, life changes, purpose finding, and building coping and life skills.
She has worked with a wide range of children, including those with ADHD, anxiety, depression, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, trauma, HIV/AIDS, and autism. Sam has also provided support to refugee children, those with emotional and behavioral difficulties, orphaned kids, and underprivileged children. Additionally, she has experience in psychiatry and addiction, including working with adults and teens dealing with eating disorders.
Sam has extensive experience running groups and workshops with the South African Department of Education. Including, educators, government officials, and correctional services. These workshops focus on working with children with HIV/AIDS, inclusive education, and providing support and trauma debriefing across various departments. And she also supervises practitioners such as therapists and councillors in their own clinical practice.
