Barbara Pretorius Physiotherapist Knysna – About Us

Who is Barbara Pretorius, the Physiotherapist?

Barbara Pretorius Physiotherapist Knysna focuses on helping patients relieve pain and discomfort. I believe in hands-on healing and actively encourage people to take care of their bodies. My goal involves restoring mobility and enhancing overall well-being through physiotherapy.

I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1966 and grew up in a Christian, middle-class home. From a young age, I knew I wanted a career that allowed me to help people. Physiotherapy became the perfect choice. Over the years, my journey across continents has shaped my expertise and refined my patient care approach.

I am not only a physiotherapist but also a wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. My family plays a vital role in my life, and I bring the same level of care and dedication to my patients as I do to my loved ones.

The Journey to Physiotherapy Excellence

In July 2004, I relocated to Singapore and embraced new experiences during a sabbatical. I immersed myself in reading, writing, beading, and sewing, while my passion for books and learning continued to flourish. This period significantly contributed to my professional development.

By 2006, I returned to South Africa and settled by the coast, where the fresh sea air provided an escape from city pollution. That same year, I launched my own physiotherapy practice. Initially, I worked in a small room equipped with one bed, a hot pack, and an ultrasound machine. Over time, my practice expanded into a fully-fledged physiotherapy clinic. By September 2009, I moved into a larger space, featuring two treatment rooms, a reception area, and an efficient accounting system.
