Barry Smith founded Orthotic Prosthetic Solutions (OPS) in 1981. Originally from the UK, he brought his passion for orthotic care to Australia and has worked actively in the field ever since. To deepen his expertise, Barry completed a Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics at La Trobe University, Melbourne, in 2007. This advanced training strengthened his ability to provide specialised care.
Barry specialises in orthotic management for children with cerebral palsy. He offers personalised solutions that help improve mobility and comfort for his young patients. His practical approach combines evidence-based methods with individual needs.
Over the years, Barry has developed a reputation for delivering effective, compassionate treatment. Moreover, he regularly updates his skills to stay at the forefront of the field.
Due to his expertise, Barry was invited to present at the CP ISPO Symposium in Melbourne in 2010. This event gathered leading experts to discuss advances in cerebral palsy care. Furthermore, in 2013, he led the organising committee for the CP ISPO Symposium held in Perth. These roles highlight his leadership and influence in the orthotic community.
Barry’s career combines clinical excellence with a strong commitment to education. He helped build OPS into a respected clinic known for innovation and patient-centred care. Above all, Barry remains dedicated to improving the lives of his clients through expert orthotic services. His work continues to inspire both colleagues and patients alike.
